Dozens of neighborhood residents enjoyed the annual summer social gathering organized by the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA). With the high profile mayoral and city council elections coming up, many candidates and elected officials were also in attendance. The event was held at the Pilot House, Lewis Wharf on Wednesday, August 20, 2013.
Leading the event team was NEWRA President Jim Salini who welcomed everyone and expressed two community requests for this year’s mayoral and city council candidates: (1) help to secure an affordable supermarket in walking distance of the North End, and (2) help us find public restroom solutions for tourists in the neighborhood.

The 2015 North End Christmas Fund Luncheon was a packed affair on December 17th when hundreds assembled at Filippo’s Ristorante for the annual charity event. The tradition raises thousands of dollars enabling the group to send out hundreds of checks to North End seniors, low-income residents and families in need during this Christmas season.
