The 67th Anniversary of the Italian Republic was celebrated at the annual Festa Nazionale della Repubblica Italiana on June 2, 2013, held outdoors with a “Piazza Italia” at Christopher Columbus Park. The day long festa featured various exhibits, children’s games and Italian treats including gelato from Caffe Paradiso. Earlier in the day, there were some awards and speeches by local officials, including the Italian Consulate-General in Boston. Some photos later in the day are shown below.

The Society of Santa Rosalia Di Palermo held its annual procession through Boston’s North End streets on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Starting at Sacred Heart Church in North Square the statue visited Christopher Columbus Park, the other religious societies, Pizzeria Regina and all the usual stops for folks to add their ribbons of dollars.
