St. John School Hires New Second and Third Grade Teachers
Brother Gregory P. Day, OFM will be the new second grade teacher and
Ashley Goldflam will be the new third grade teacher 

St. John School in the North End today announced that due to increased enrollment, they have added a new second grade classroom in addition to the existing second grade classroom and that Brother Gregory P. Day, OFM will be the teacher for the new second grade class. The school has also hired a new third grade teacher, Ms. Ashley Goldflam, who will be replacing our retiring third teacher.

Brother Gregory P. Day, OFM is quite familiar with Catholic education. He has taught grade two for over 10 years at Cathedral Grammar in Boston, and he has taught in Catholic schools in New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. Brother Gregory was also named “Outstanding Educator” in the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey.

Ashley Goldflam has been working at St. John School as a substitute and after school teacher since September 2012. Prior to working with St. John School, Ashley was a head teacher at P.S.166 in Long Island City, New York. At P.S.166 Ashley taught grades one through four and created a teacher support services program to provide extra math and reading support to children. Ashley received a BA from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master’s degree in Education from CUNY Hunter College. Ashley has dual certification in Childhood and Early Childhood General Education as well as Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education.

I am so happy to see the increased enrollment and the many great changes and programs the school has implemented this year as well as the many renovations to the school. It is a testament to the quality of the teachers and education you receive. Keep up the great work!

  2. Very exciting times for the school. There have been so many great programs and changes implemented this year that are highly beneficial to the students education. I understand there are many more to come next year. If you haven’t already done so, you should really consider St. John School for your kids. It is a wonderful school!

  3. Nice to see a St. John’s get some great press. It is a terrific school that more people should know about and think about sending their kids to, the Eliot isn’t the only school in the North End. I went there as a kid and have such fond memories. It is such a nice school with great kids who all like each other and get along and the teachers truly care about educating the kids.
