Children’s Music Theater Workshop – 2013 Program!
Week One: July 8th – July 12th
Week Two: July 15th- July 19th
The goal of this summer program is to provide children and teens with training and exposure to all performing arts. Each Music Theater Troupe member will receive training in music, dance, theater yoga, health & fitness, and leadership training. Outdoor, public performances will conclude each week on Fridays. We will perform one musical a week, these will be announced mid-March.
Program is open to children and teens ages 5 – 13. Children are separated into age groups:
Beginners: Ages 5-6 Intermediates: Ages 7-8 Advanced: Ages 9-13
Schedule:
1 week or 2 week commitment
Monday- Thursday 9am – 4pm
Friday: 9am -Noon
Optional early drop-off 8:30 am and late pick-up 5pm (Monday- Thursday only)
Performance Schedule Information:Please note our end of the week performances are on each Friday at 4:00 pm at the Boston Harbor Community Church. We will also have an optional performance for children on Thursday, July 18th at 6:00 pm as part of our Outdoor Summer Concert Series on the Prado.
Sample Weekday Schedule:
9:00 — 9:30am WARM UP! Group Yoga
9:30- 11:30am Age Group Rotations through Dance,, Music,, and Acting Class
11:30 – Noon Lunch (bring your bag lunch)
Noon – 1:00pm Outdoor Guest Performance Hour
1:00- 2:00 pm Theatre Cinema Hour at Boston Harbor Church – *snack provided
2:00 – 4:00 pm Group Workshop on Performance (staging, choreography, music/chorus rehearsals. (Ages 5-6) will be accompanied by our early childhood educator for daily special theatre games workshop

Instructors: All Workshop Instructors are CORI certified. Student / Instructor ratio is 4 or 5 : 1 depending on enrollment. Lead teachers are CPR certified.

DRAMA/Musical Theater Workshop-Ages 5-12
August 5th-9th, 2013
Part I ( drama portion) runs from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Part II (musical theatre portion) runs from 12:30-4:00 pm
This workshop is run in 2, half day parts. Part I will be learning a play to be performed on Friday, the 9th at 12:30 pm. Part II will be learning some of the greatest musical theater vocal selections. Children are welcome to stay for the entire day!

Cost per each half day program: $150.00
** There is a %15 discount for enrolling in both workshops

Ballet Workshop! – Ages 3-6
August 12th-16th, 2013
Workshop runs from 10:00 am-12:30 pm
Beginning ballerinas ages 3- 6 learn introductory ballet poses, including the five positions. Kids explore their creativity through dance! Please bring a snack for snack time!

Find Your Favorite Instrument! – Ages 4-7
August 12th-16th, 2013
Workshop runs from 12:30 pm -4:00 pm
This is a workshop designed for beginning musicians to learn which instrument they love the most! Each day will feature a workshop with a different instrument family, including: Keyboard, Strings (violin, cello and viola), Guitar (acoustic, electric, banjo), percussion (including African drumming, drum kit, and street drumming), and Brass & Wood winds (saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, flute). By the end of the week, your child will know what is his/her favorite instrument!
