It was Opening Day for the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) on Saturday, April 27, 2013. This year’s event included four games at Langone Park on Commercial street with a pizza party and ceremony in memory of lifelong North End resident, Carmen “Tilly” DeMartino. Friday January 23rd about 100 Major League players, ages 9-12, parents and coaches filled the conference room of the Nazarro for the 2014 baseball awards ceremony. Labor Day weekend brought the 3rd Annual Fall Bocce Classic, known as “Michael’s Tournament” to Langone Park. The event welcomes North Enders and friends to serious bocce while honoring the late Michael Mendola.
