At Fenway Park on Saturday afternoon, Neil Diamond surprised fans by leading a “Sweet Caroline” sing-a-long at the top of the 8th inning. Long synonymous with Boston’s Fenway and Red Sox, the song has been played by many major league ballparks this week, including New York and Chicago, to offer support as the Boston suffered through the Marathon bombings. The Red Sox won 4-3 against the Kansas City Royals.

Earlier, a moving pre-game ceremony honored the victims of the tragedy, including David Ortiz “Big Papi” on the microphone, “This is our (expletive) city, and nobody is going to dictate our freedom. Stay strong.” Read more at Boston.com.
