The usual spots along the North End waterfront flooded at high tide from the storm surge associated with the February 8, 2013 blizzard. Significant water intrusions from Boston Harbor were seen at Long Wharf, Sargent’s Wharf and along the North End waterfront. Notably in this latest storm, the water surge reached inward past the Chart House to nearly reach the Long Wharf Marriott.
With sea level rise in the news this week, neighbor Ann Moritz reminds us this is happening today, as shown in these photos of flooding on the waterfront around Long Wharf during the tides last Fall. By the time the end of Long Wharf legal status is determined, it could be an underwater park.
