The largest neighborhood skating event of the season took place at the 5th Annual Santa Skate & Toy Drive hosted by the North End Columbus Day Committee at Steriti Rink on Saturday, December 16, 2012.
Skaters brought toys and the kids enjoyed photos with Santa while everyone enjoyed skating at the rink!
Several hundred skaters showed up for the event. The event was held at Steriti Skating Rink on Commercial Street in the North End. Each donated toy received a free ice skate rental for the day. Louis Strazzullo, chair of the committee was also the DJ for the event playing holiday tunes for the skaters.
The charity event is in its fifth year and is organized by the North End Columbus Day Committee as a way to hold a massive toy drive for needy children during the holidays. There also was a raffle with several prizes that contributed to the cause.
The North End Columbus Day Committee wishes you a joyous holiday season!
