The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, FOCCP, are shuffling it up this year. Instead of the annual gala, the group is rolling the dice on a Casino Night! The event is scheduled for Friday, November 16, 2012, 7-11pm at the Marriott Long Wharf Harbor View Ballroom. This is the newly renovated ballroom upstairs overlooking the harbor. Getting a jump on the July 4th festivities, the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) put on a family friendly event to celebrate Independence Day at the waterfront park, Saturday June 27th. Uncle Sam on stilts is always a hit during the kids parade around the park. Free American flags were handed out to all participants, who covered just about every age category.
