Bigger and better than ever was the 18th Taste of the North End, held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at DCR’s Steriti Rink on Commercial Street. Over 500 guests sampled from more than 35 popular North End eateries showcasing a wide array of delectable appetizers, cheeses, entrees and desserts, and sipped on refreshing libations from area wine and beer distributors. There was also a high end silent auction with hotel and restaurant packages, Boston sporting tickets and memorabilia.
NECN’S TV Diner host Billy Costa emceed the evening and North End Music and Performing Arts Center’s band Crosstown performed on stage. Teddy Tomasone, Billy Costa and Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, were honored with awards presented by Co-Chairs Donato Frattaroli and Jim Luisi. Special guests also included the Boston Bruins Andrew Ferrence and his daughter Ava.
Initiated in 1993 by Donato Frattaroli, Taste of the North End brings together hundreds of participants to feast on samplings of world famous North End cuisine – all generously donated by our neighboring restaurants.
Proceeds benefit North End Waterfront Health and other children and seniors charities in the neighborhood.
