A big, really big, sailing boat docked this week at Yacht Haven, Commercial Wharf. The three masted rigged schooner, named Eos, is 305 feet long and the largest private sailing yacht in the world.
Its ownership is private, but was once owned by Barry Diller, creator of Fox and USA Broadcasting and currently CEO of IAC/Interactive. The yacht set sail in 2006 and is valued at over $150 million.
MarineTraffic.com shows the yacht visiting various ports along the North Atlantic coast this summer, having stopped at Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Provincetown. Eos, named after the Greek goddess, has three 200-foot masts, a 21-person crew and flies a Cayman Islands flag.
