Boston Police District A-1 Officers took on the North End teenagers in a basketball game on Friday 6/11 at the Nazzaro Center in the North End. The final score was the Blue Team 32 & the White Team 22. The police officers were the victors in the game. Sergeant Tom Lema and Officer David Saddler were the referees for the game. Also attending from A-1 were Captain Bernard O’Rourke, Officer Teddy Boyle and Christine Vraibel.
Although they had youth as their advantage, one North End teen commented, “Those cops are in shape.” The North End kids said that they would be back next year looking for a big win.
Pizza after the game was provided by Pizzeria Regina. Teams received jerseys for the game donated by Suffolk University. Teens were given a gift card to “Lids” from BPD District A-1 and Boston Fire Ladder 1 Engine 8 (North End). The teams also thanked the Nazzaro Community Center and Rosanne Romano.
