An update from Boston Parks Department, via the NEWRA Parks Committee, said the City is expecting to start re-construction within a month of the brick wall between the “Gassy,” DeFilippo Park, and Snow Hill Street. The contract is in City Hall after a bidding process was completed.
The Parks Department also did an “extensive cleaning” to the drainage lines in the park. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback to on the success (or failure) of this work to improve drainage to Michelle Folts at Michele.Folts@cityofboston.gov and parks@newra.org.
NEWRA Parks Committee Chair, Anne Pistorio, also reported that the area between the Gassy and the Brinks garage has been determined to be City property. The committee is working with officials regarding maintenance and clean-up.

“The dog park pilot at Gassy Flights (DeFilippo Playground) went extremely well and has been approved by the City to be a permanent addition to the neighborhood,” said RUFF (Responsible Urbanites for Fido) President Leslie Horn at this month’s North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) meeting. “The feedback we have been received has been extraordinarily positive.
