Today is Tuesday, October 8 and the first vaping-related death has been reported in Massachusetts. This comes two weeks after Governor Baker declared a public health emergency and banned the sale of vaping products, read more on CBS Boston.

3:30PM After-School Adventures. Join the North End Library and drop in after school to explore art, science, or engineering through hands-on activities. Ideal for kids 4 years old and up.
4:30PM Tea & Tranquility. Stop by Armenian Heritage Park and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Greenway!
6:30PM FOCCP Monthly Meeting at Mariner’s House. Stop by 11 North Square for the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park monthly meeting, see additional information here.

3:00PM Kids’ LEGO Club. Join the North End Library and drop in after school to build whatever you can imagine using LEGOs and DUPLOs.
4:00PM BTU Homework Help at the North End Library. The Boston Teachers Union sponsors a Homework Helper program in each of the Boston Public Library branches. The BTU provides a teacher to help children with their homework for free.
5:30PM Friends of the North End Library Meeting. Stop by 25 Parmenter Street for the Friends of the North End Library meeting.
6:30PM “Black Coffee” with Author Daniel Ford at the North End Library. Dave Pezza, host of the NovelClass podcast, will emcee and the author will take questions from the audience following the reading and discussion. Plenty of (free!) 10:30AM Concert with 123 Andres. Stop by the North End Library. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, join Latin Grammy-winning 123 Andrés in a concert for kids and families at the library.
11:00AM Mah Jongg Club. Come by the North End Library every Thursday in October and play the American-style variant of this tile-based game that originated in China and requires skill, strategy, and calculation. Beginners are welcome. No sign up is required.
5:30PM Celebrate: 10 Years of The Greenway. Celebrate 10 Years of The Greenway with a sweet treat by the Rings Fountain, a few words from the Executive Director, and a specially commissioned, site-specific dance performance.
6:15PM Dance Performance at the Rings Fountain. For The Greenway’s 10th anniversary, the Greenway Conservancy has commissioned celebrated choreographer Peter DiMuro to create site-specific, free dance performances at the Rings Fountain, see additional details here.
6:30PM Italian Heritage Month Honoree Night. At this year’s Italian Heritage Month Honoree Night, the West End Museum will recognize Anthony “Nino” Mondello and Ann Corio for their contributions to the history and culture of Boston’s West End.
6:30PM Peddocks Island: Rich History, Vital Future. The second event in the three-part series with Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands and Boston Harbor Now, this talk will take place at Old South Meeting House and will highlight the changes ongoing at Peddocks Island, see additional details here.
