The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) will hold its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, June 9, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center. NEWRA encourages all North End/Waterfront residents to become active members and participate in neighborhood meetings. Meetings are open, and all are welcome! Mangia Mangia Receives Good Neighbor Recognition Award

The Good Neighbor Recognition Award for this month was awarded to Mangia Mangia at 147 Endicott Street in Boston’s North End. The award was recently presented by Recognition Committee Chair Janet Gilardi of the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).   1. WHY are we making it easier to have dogs in our densely populated neighborhood??
    Even when (if, that is) owners clean up solid waste, sidewalks are full of dog urine. (As I was exiting my building the other day, i accidentally stepped into a pool of urine on the sidewalk right outside the door. When I said something to the dog owner as she walked away, she replied that she “had not noticed.”
    It’s time to disallow dogs who defecate or urinate in public spaces.

    1. Jane – Hope you can make it to the NEWRA meeting this Thursday night so you can ask questions and hear about the many reasons why a dog park is beneficial to any urban neighborhood, especially densely populated ones like our beloved North End.
