Patriot’s Day, Lantern Ceremony and Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride Re-enactment

Although the focus was on the big race on the other side of town, the North End kept up its annual Patriot’s Day traditions with Old North’s Lantern Ceremony and the National Lancers re-enactment of the Paul Revere’s midnight ride departing from the Prado on Hanover Street. The Patriot’s Day parade from City Hall apparently ran into a bit of snag, but Mayor Walsh spoke at short ceremony on the plaza. Photos, videos and stories are shown below.

  1. growing up in the north end and as a teenager going out at night it was always comforting to see the lanterns lit at night during the spring and summer..as crazy as this sounds after getting in a little mischief once you were back in the north end or on your way home you saw those lanterns lit and you knew you were home..
