At a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 3, 2010, Rowes Wharf Water Transport debuted Boston Harbor’s first and only all-electric, zero-emissions water taxi. Lowell Richards of Massport said the taxi complements what Massport is doing to reduce the carbon footprint of transportation resources. Guests were offered free rides. Refreshments were provided by Paul Jacques and the Boston Harbor Hotel. “We hope that this is the start of many more “green” water taxis and boats in the Harbor”, said Vivien Li, Executive Director of The Boston Harbor Association.
