My name is Lisa Jennings and I am a local college graduate living on Commercial Street in Boston’s North End for 2 years now. I teach at a local preschool and babysit for many North End families on a regular basis.
This summer I will be embarking on a 4,000+ mile bike ride from Baltimore, MD to San Diego, CA. I will be doing this through the 4k for Cancer program, a program of the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Our mission is to raise awareness, inspire communities and raise hope towards the eradication of cancer. We will do this by visiting patients at hospitals/centers and hospices, as well as hosting cancer education programs in the towns we stop in along the way on our trek across the country.
As one of 90 college-aged students that will be riding on 3 separate trips, we have all accepted the challenge of raising $4,500 before we hit the road in June. The money will help to support the trip, but for the most part it will be used to its fullest by the Ulman Cancer Fund.
I have been blessed and fortunate to travel to many places in my young life. However, I have always dreamed of seeing the United States while doing it for a good cause. Luckily, the Ulman Cancer Foundation is an amazing cause and I am so proud to ride with 4K this summer. Sadly, cancer has effected far too many of our lives and I hope this message will leave you inspired to join the fight.
I know I will reach my fundraising goal and I will dedicate my daily rides to the family and loved ones you may know that have battled cancer, paired with the epic experience of seeing this country from the saddleback of my bike. I appreciate and thank you in advance for your support.

Lisa, I don’t see this charity listed on Charity Navigator. Does it go by some other name? I’d like to research it.
