Parents, faculty, staff and friends of the John Eliot K-8 Innovation School celebrated the school’s 300th anniversary at the annual Spring Fling Gala and Auction on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel. In addition to the school community, a host of mayoral candidates attended the event. With the start of the expansion to the North Bennet Street School buildings, the Eliot School Family Council and Principal Traci Walker Griffith acknowledged the school’s incredible achievements over the past few years and looked to maintain such exceptional standards. Funds raised at the event supports programs and interventions that enable the students to not only achieve academic excellence, but build character and self-confidence to become positive contributors to our communities in a variety of ways. The evening included a full course meal, silent auction, raffles and a DJ spinning tunes into the night. The Spring Fling Gala was organized by Lynn Bova, Julianne McHugh and Melissa Martocchio and others from the Family Council. (Photos by Matt Conti. Click any image to start a full screen slideshow.)
