A truck took out the tree at one of the busiest intersections in the North End, on the corner of Hanover and Parmenter Streets, as shown in this photo captured Thursday morning by Matt Black.

The scaffolding is down on the side of the Saint Leonard’s Peace Garden wall revealing a large red Catholic cross.
