A truck took out the tree at one of the busiest intersections in the North End, on the corner of Hanover and Parmenter Streets, as shown in this photo captured Thursday morning by Matt Black.

In what appeared to be a false alarm, Boston Fire Department responded to Hanover Street near the Cross Street intersection in Boston’s North End on Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. Photos of the street scene are shown below. Photos by Matt Conti.
We reported last week on increasing street light outages in the North End especially on Hanover Street. Unfortunately, the situation has deteriorated further. This was a strong healthy tree, which we really need to get replaced. There are so few healthy trees in the neighborhood.
