For more than 20 years we ran a Sunday morning basketball game at the 4Cs. We were a small group of present and ex North Enders. Plus, the game was joined by a lot of the local guys. Every year, I had to track down Bobby who ran the place for the Franciscans. He really was not supposed to let it be used by a non official community group. He would always start with a ‘no’. But, I knew he would ultimately say ‘yes’. He would come by and get the place open every Sunday morning for us. It was such a great time thanks to Bobby.
Over the years, when I took my kids to games, Bobby always went out of his way to say hello to me and my kids. He was a great guy.
