Amenities at the Hub on Causeway, near North Station, continue to open at the development. Following the recent opening of the big Star Market, a new 15-screen ArcLight Cinemas has opened over Thanksgiving weekend.

This is the first Northeast location for Los Angeles-based ArcLight featuring a 3-level, premium space, with a cafe-bar, 65-seat cocktail lounge and 15 movie theaters including a huge 280-seat space with a curved screen.

North Ender Paul K., was one of the first to take in a new movie at the new theater giving the experience high marks. “The seats were comfortable, there were no ads and just 3 trailer previews so the movie started within 10 minutes of the listed showtime,” he described. However, he notes that the theater itself is still getting its finishing construction touches.

Arclight is known for its ad-free environment and state-of-the-art sight and sound technology. Be on time because latecomers are not allowed inside. Food can be ordered at kiosks before the movie, including the company’s silent-popcorn.

The theater seating has recliners in the front rows and more standard seats higher up. Hours are 11am-11pm, Sun-Thurs; 11am-1am, Friday and Saturday. Tickets go for $11-$16.

  1. Having a theater closer to the neighborhood is a great amenity. I can’t wait to check out the massive, curved screen for the forthcoming Star Wars movie!
