Monday’s Brief: Lobster Roll Lawsuit, Pedestrian Traffic Hearing, Crafternoon, OnBoard Awards, North End Against Drugs Dinner

Today is Monday, November 18 and a Boston-delivery person is suing pop-star Lizzo for libel after the star tweeted saying this person stole her lobster roll, read more on Boston Magazine.

1:00PM Hearing to Discuss Pedestrian Traffic Calming. Members of the public are cordially invited to attend and testify at a hearing to discuss pedestrian crossing signals, traffic calming, and vision zero, see additional details here.

3:30PM Crafternoon. Stop by the North End Library and Use different art supplies to create a project to take home. Ideal for kids 3-7 years old.

5:30PM The OnBoard Awards by Boston Harbor Now. Boston Harbor Now’s The Onboard Awards recognizes Boston’s most innovative and socially responsible partners in waterfront development. 5:30PM North End Against Drugs Family Dinner/Talk. North End Against Drugs will be having another Family Dinner / Family Talk where the guest speaker will be Boston Police Commissioner William Gross, see additional details here.

Tuesday, November 19

10:30AM Toddler Story Time. Stop by the North End Library and listen to stories, sing songs, and learn together through movement and play. This story time is ideal for little ones who have started walking or moving on their own.

11:00AM Baby Story Time. Join the North End Library and enjoy gentle stories, songs, and lap bounces for pre-walking babies and caregivers.

1:00PM Public Hearing to Discuss Transportation Network Companies. Members of the public are invited to attend and testify at a hearing to discuss transportation network companies operating in Boston, see additional information here.

4:00PM Tween Science Lab. Stop by the North End Library and work together to explore a hands-on science project. For kids 9-12 years old.

6:30PM Parcel Two Meeting #4: Preferred Design Progress. The Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the Greenway Conservancy, invites community members to the fourth public meeting for the Parcel 2 Park Design process. The goal of this meeting will be to provide a design progress update to interested community members, see additional details here.

Wednesday, November 20

8:30AM One Waterfront Initiative at Rowes Wharf. Join us in November for a conversation with the Trustees of Reservations to learn about the One Waterfront Initiative – an ambitious project to build a network of new green open spaces along Boston’s inner harbor, see additional information here.

3:00PM Kids’ LEGO Club. Drop by the North End Library after school to build whatever you can imagine using LEGOs and DUPLOs.

4:00PM BTU Homework Help at the North End Library. The Boston Teachers Union sponsors a Homework Helper program in each of the Boston Public Library branches. The BTU provides a teacher to help children with their homework for free.

6:30PM Book Club at the Library. Stop by the North End Library for the book discussion club. This discussion will be on No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden by Glenn Greenwald.

7:00PM The Snow Leopard Project and Other Adventure in Warzone Conversation at the Simons IMAX Theater. Following decades of war, Dr. Alex Dehgan moved to Afghanistan in 2006 to build the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Afghanistan Program to protect snow leopards and other endangered species there, see additional details here.
