Registration for the North End St. Leonard’s Knights basketball season is now open!
Complete the attached CYO Minor Release Form and Player/Parent Code of Conduct and drop off anytime at the Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet Street. There will also be an in-person sign up at the Nazzaro from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, with hard copies of the forms available.
Registration costs for this season will be $75 for the first child and $50 for additional children in the league. The increase in fees is due to another increase in registration fees from the CYO league.
Organizers of the Knights program acknowledge this is a significant increase in cost. Last year the operational costs actually ended with a negative balance so this, in combination with the increased referee and league fees, determined the registration amount. Coaches hope the cost will allow the program to operate out of the red, provide a much-needed kitty for unexpected costs and fees, and avoid increasing fees again next year. They reiterate that coaches and helpers are volunteers and do not take any money. In order to keep the fee as low as possible, a “ref sponsorship” per game will be implemented.
The Knights are also happy and grateful that Donato Frattaroli, through Taste of the North End and his restaurant ventures, will return as jersey sponsor this season.
