The opening of the Eliot Upper School at 585 Commercial Street culminates an 8-year push by North End/Downtown families to expand access to public schools. During the expansion, the school has scaled from serving 180 students to 780 this school year. The ribbon cutting event will bring our community together featuring bouncy houses, a photo booth, hula hoop and four square stations, face painting, a fire truck and food from the BPS MyWay Cafe food service provider.
A highlight will be the dunk tank including our fearless principal, Traci Walker Griffith, State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, a foreperson from our local fire station, Senator Joe Boncore and some of the best teachers around! The day promises to be a fun community celebration of all our hard work.
