NEMPAC Opera in the Park Moved to St. Stephen’s Church on Father’s Day

Due to rain in the forecast, NEMPAC has relocated this event to St. Stephen’s Church, 401 Hanover Street.

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) has announced that Opera in the Park: “A Celebration of Eight Years of NEMPAC Opera Project” will return on Sunday, June 16, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This free family-friendly event is sponsored by Friends of Christopher Columbus Park.

Entering its eighth performance season with Rachel Portman’s lush setting of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince”, Artistic Director Alexandra Dietrich will honor the successful trajectory of NEMPAC Opera Project throughout the years with a celebratory performance that will remind us of our past productions of Carmen, Così Fan Tutte, Die Fledermaus, La Bohème, La Cenerentola, Fidelio, and last year’s Don Giovanni. This special al fresco performance will also showcase sneak peek excerpts of this year’s mainstage opera “The Little Prince”, and will feature conductor Dr. Tiffany Chang, the cast of “The Little Prince,” and assistant conductor Steve Bergman on piano.
