Nazzaro Center Seniors Enjoy Bingo, Shopping and a Musical

The Nazzaro Center seniors had quite the social life during the month of May!

What keeps them active and excited is the fact that another activity or monthly trip is just around the corner for next month. The currently planned trip did not happen yet and they are already asking the question, “What are we doing next month?”

Recently on May 19, the seniors had the opportunity to take a bus trip to Foxwoods Resort and Casino where they enjoyed playing Bingo and pressed their luck at the slot machines. On another day last month, they were fortunate enough to go shopping at the mall and then have dinner at Tulips restaurant.

The highlight of their month was going to the theater to see the “Million Dollar Quartet” musical. The Million Dollar Quartet is a recording of an impromptu jam session involving Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash, made on Dec 4, 1956 at Sun Record Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. The seniors were singing and dancing in their seats and were reminiscing to the sounds of their younger days.

The seniors would love to continue these activities to keep healthy and active, but we need your help. Many plays, buses, zumba teachers, and activities are very expensive and the seniors are not able to afford most of these special events. If anybody would like to volunteer and share their skills / talents with the seniors of the Nazzaro Center, that would be fantastic. Donations can also be contributed for a bus trip. If interested, please contact Laurie D’Elia at 617-635-5166.
