Another successful North End Athletic Association (NEAA) 2019 baseball season opening day was held on Sunday, April 28 at Langone Field on Commercial Street.
All teams participated in the event, which recognized Saint Anthony’s Society for over 50 years of sponsorship and support. Four games were played on Dom Campochiaro Field – the Minor League program sponsored by North End Against Drugs, the NEAA’s young lady’s softball program run by Chuck Bilikas, and two Little League games.
NEAA Baseball Commissioner Ralph Martignetti and Baseball Coordinator John Romano, along with many volunteers, put together the baseball programs and opening day festivities. In addition to baseball, there was a celebratory barbecue, face painting and a balloon artist.
“Special thanks to Patricia Romano, Mikey Giannasoli, Carmen Tordiglione, Maryanne Tordiglione and Lillian Ferullo for volunteering all day to help with set up, serving and the raffle, as well as Joe Bono of Boston Pushcarts. Also, thank you to the US Coast Guard Color Guard for presenting the colors during the singing of the National Anthem.” – John Romano
