6:30PM Author Talk: Vincent J. Cannato. Author and Associate Professor of History at UMASS-Boston Vincent J. Cannato discusses his 2010 book American Passage: the History of Ellis Island at the North End Library, read more here.

6:30PM NEMPAC Annual Meeting. The public is invited to join NEMPAC at their Annual Meeting at the Mariner’s House in North Sq. The meeting with be led by NEMPAC President, Dianne Royle and NEMPAC Executive Director, Sherri Snow. A report on NEMPAC’s 2017-18 fiscal year will be shared with Board Members and guests.

Boston’s new MLK memorial is a gleaming bronze embrace

A new Boston memorial dedicated to civil rights has officially been chosen to be placed in the Boston Common. The 22-foot bronze sculpture is dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King Jr and will be unveiled in 2020, read more on CNN.com.

  1. Delighted to read that the Boston Civic Design Commission(BCDC) has unanimously disapproved the Dock Square Garage project!
    Hopefully, it will disapproved by the other entities responsible for this unnecessary addition to the neighborhood.
