Handel’s Messiah Presented in Free North End Concert [Photos]

It was standing room only to hear Handel’s Messiah (Part 1) presented together by the North End Music and Performing Arts Center and Boston Landmarks Orchestra. Conducted by Christopher Wilkins, the free public concert was held at the historic and newly restored Saint Leonard Church in the heart of Boston’s North End.

The concert featured the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, One City Choir and NEMPAC’s Children’s Choir. Soloists included Teresa Wakim (Soprano), Emily Marvosh (Contralto), Ethan DePuy (Tenor) and Junhan Choi (Bass), with the latter two also NEMPAC artists and faculty.

The crowd pleasing Hallelujah chorus concluded the performance, including an encore where attendees sang along with the choir and orchestra. The concert was sponsored in part by Lucia Ristorante and the Frattaroli Family in memory of Mark F. Frattaroli.
