
BPDNews.com reports that at about 5:20 PM, on Friday, November 23, 2018, officers assigned to the Boston Police Harbor Patrol Unit responded to a call for a person in the water in the area of Long Wharf in Downtown Boston.
Officers quickly arrived on scene and spotted the victim, a male in his thirties, in the water near a mooring ball and pulled him aboard their 31’ foot Safe Boat. It was dark and below freezing at the time of the rescue with the water temperature in the harbor at only about 50 degrees.
Officers were unable to ascertain why the victim had gone into the water. Officers immediately brought the victim to the dock at Long Wharf where he was met by awaiting Boston EMS personnel who transported him to an area hospital for treatment.
