Eliot Middle School students are proving their talents expand beyond the walls of the classroom. In the past week, students received awards in the City Wide Cross Country Championship and in the first debate tournament of the year.
Seventeen students participated in the cross country championship, with both boys and girls teams placing third overall out of 13 schools. Of 150 girls, three Eliot students placed in the top four – Sloan H. (2nd place), Jiajia Z. (third place), and Sophia G. (fourth place). Luke M. also placed ninth out of 164 boys.
The Eliot Middle School debate team also just participated in their first tournament of the year at Suffolk Law School.
Eighth grader Ira received a twelfth place speaker award, and eighth grader Rebecca received a fifth place team award.
