
Tuesday, September 4, is the state primaries when Massachusetts voters will cast their vote for who they want to see on the November ballot for the positions of Massachusetts governor, state legislature and U.S. Congress.
Get out and vote! Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. These are the polling locations serving most North End / Waterfront residents:
- Christopher Columbus Apartments, 145 Commercial Street (Precinct 1)
- Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennett Street (Precincts 2 & 3)
- Casa Maria Apartments, 130 Endicott St. (Precinct 4, formerly was 41 N. Margin St. – KoC)
- Harbor Towers / Rowes Wharf / Downtown (Precinct 6) votes at City Hall
Here’s a look at who’s on the ballots:
Congress
U.S. Senate: Elizabeth Warren (D, incumbent), Geoff Diehl (R), John Kingston (R) and Beth Joyce Lindstrom (R).
U.S. House for Eighth Congressional District: This district covers parts of Boston including the North End / Waterfront, and Southeastern Mass. Candidates included Stephen Lynch (D, incumbent), Brianna Wu (D) and Christopher Voehl (D).
Statewide Offices
Governor: Charles Baker (R, incumbent), Scott Lively (R), Jay Gonzalez (D) and Bob Massie (D).
Attorney General: Maura Healey (D, incumbent), James McMahon III (R) and Daniel Shores (R).
Secretary of State: William Galvin (D, incumbent), Josh Zakim (D) and Anthony Amore (R).
Lieutenant Governor: Karyn Polito (R, incumbent), Quentin Palfrey (D) and Jimmy Tingle (D).
Auditor: Suzanne Bump (D, incumbent) Helen Brady (R) and Daniel Fishman (L).
Treasurer: Deborah Goldberg (D, incumbent) and Keiko Orrall (R).
Suffolk County District Attorney: Current DA Conley announced earlier this year he would not be seeking re-election. The candidates vying to take over this role are Evandro Carvalho (D), Linda Champion (D), Gregory Henning (D), Shannon McAuliffe (D) and Rachael Rollins (D).
Suffolk County Register of Deeds: Stephen Murphy (D, incumbent) and Katherine Forde (D).
M.A. House of Representatives Third Suffolk District: Aaron Michlewitz (D, incumbent) is running unopposed.
M.A. State Senate First Suffolk & Middlesex District: Joseph Boncore (D, incumbent) is running unopposed.
