The deadline to register to vote, update your address, or to change your political party for the Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Preliminary Municipal Election is Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
Residents who are looking to register to vote or make a change to their current registration may do so by applying in person at City Hall, requesting an application by mail by calling the Boston Election Department at 617-635-3767 or by downloading a mail-in registration form off of our website.
The Boston Election Department (City Hall – Room 241) will be open until 8PM on September 4 to accommodate last minute Voter Registrations. Those looking to fill out a Voter Registration form after 5PM on that date should enter City Hall by the Congress Street entrance. All registrations that are mailed to the Election Department must be postmarked by September 4 in order to be eligible for the upcoming election.
All registrations postmarked after the 4th will be unable to be processed until after September Preliminary Municipal Election and will not be eligible until the Municipal Election on November 5, 2013.
