“Boston Blooms With Daffodils” This October

Daffodils on Cross Street

The City initiative “Boston Blooms with Daffodils” returns this October when 20,000 daffodil bulbs will be distributed citywide for volunteers to plant over the weekends of October 26 and November 2.

The Parks department worked with over 100 community groups last year to plant these bulbs in public areas across the city. Anyone from individuals to civic associations, church groups, sports leagues and scout troops can sign up to participate.

If interested, fill out a form online at boston.gov/boston-blooms, including contact information and identification of the public space you or your group is volunteering to plant. Groups with approved planting locations will be contacted by the Parks Department and given bulb pick-up instructions and dates. Participants are asked to use their own tools.

For more information on how to participate in Boston Blooms with Daffodils, call the Parks Department at (617) 961-3006.
