The 3rd Annual Anthony “Wrinkles” Morella Memorial Street Hockey Tournament was played Sunday at the “The Gassy” (DeFilippo Playground) on Prince Street in the North End. All proceeds of the event support the local New England charity, The Fund for Autistic Children.
After the full day tournament with ten teams playin, Bobby G’s Blackhawks took the first place trophy. Organizers Justin Amoroso, Michael James LoPriore and Sal Gesamondo said, “We would just like to thank you all, in particular all of our volunteers who made this day what it was!
Anthony was a beacon in the neighborhood who grew to become a local hero. Anthony was taken from us in January of 2008, but his memory will forever live on as we remember “our buddy ol’ pal”.
