Help a Family Displaced by North End Fire

Last week’s fire on Hanover Street in the North End not only left the neighborhood shaken with grief, but displaced several community members. The Cristescu family was severely impacted losing everything including clothes, food, cherished items and toys for their 3 year old son. Please consider helping the community raise funds to help the Cristescus obtain housing, clothing and other essential they need, read more and donate via GoFundMe here.

10:00AM Little Groove Concert at North End Library. Join the North End Library at 25 Parmenter Street as children learn to play in a fun musical environment and will have the opportunity to interact with parachutes, puppets, instruments and more, view the full event posting.

6:00PM North End Holiday Shopping Stroll at North End Shops. Join the community in celebrating the arrival of the holiday season by visiting over a dozen North End shops for treats, sales and prizes, view the full event posting here.

6:00PM Christmas Tree Event at Hanover & Cross Streets. Get in the strolling mood with Celebrity Christmas Carolers, hot chocolate, St. John’s School bake sale and an appearance by Santa Claus, view the full event posting.

Is Canal Street the next pedestrian way in Boston?

With all the development plans for either side of Canal Street, the city is considering making the popular street near the North End more pedestrian-friendly. Among other changes in consideration, restaurants are being encouraged to do more outdoor seating and allow more street vendors on the sidewalks, Boston Globe has more.

10:30AM I Piccoli Lettori. Join I AM Books at 189 North Street for its Italian reading group for children ages 0-4. Little ones and their parents will have the opportunity to engage in multiple readings and games for a fun morning of Italian language and learning.

11:00AM Friends of North End Library Holiday Lunch. Join the Friend of the North End Library at 25 Parmenter Street for delicious food, games and music by The Joneses.

12:00PM Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree for Charity. Stop by Faneuil Hall Marketplace to see Mix104.1 FM’s Gregg Daniels and Fast Freddy as they collect toys for ‘Karson & Kennedy’s” 10,000 Toys for Girls & Boys. The event will benefit the Boston-area Toys for Tots and entertainment will be provided by the Nate Bash Brand, Sugarbabies Band and Them Apples Band.

6:00PM Helene Stapinski – Murder in Matera. Join I AM Book at 189 North Street as Helene Stapinski, acclaimed author, goes deep into the heart of Italy to unravel a century-old family mystery.
