Boston Community Collaborative facilitated the writing of lots of THANK YOU cards yesterday in celebration of THANKSGIVING. BCC provides this activity annually at the North End branch of the Boston Public Library. This year, we were at the Library at 10 am and again at 3 pm to accommodate two different groups of folks – 10 am saw our young toddler friends and neighbors, 3 p.m saw our afterschool friends and neighbors. It is a pleasure to see folks from various contexts in the neighborhood (SJS, Eliot, Our movers and shakers classes at the WECC) coming together for this lovely and heartwarming event.
A big thank you to Miss Jennifer and Miss Alyson of the North End Library for hosting us.
This year, in addition to the event at the library, we expanded our thank you card writing campaign to the 6th, 7th and 8th grade at the BPS Eliot School. It was refreshing to see and hear these youngsters showing genuine appreciation thru the thank you cards they wrote.
A shout out to Principal Traci Walker-Griffith, and Guidance Councilor Morgan Atkins for hosting us.
Look for this event next year if you are interested in participating! Happy Thanksgiving!
