North End Against Drugs (NEAD) held its annual Back to School Dance Party last Friday, September 29th, at Polcari Playground at the Nazzaro Center. The playground was filled with students from the neighborhood and their parents, as well as students from our two neighborhood schools the Eliot and St. John’s. NEAD board members organized a fun-filled night with DJ Justin Amoroso spinning the tunes. There was free pizza donated by Pizzeria Regina, snacks and soft drinks provided by NEAD, as well as a free raffle for all the students who attended! Special thanks goes out to Pizza Regina, Eversource, NEAD board members, Boston Police P.A.L., the Bruins and Heidi R (all whom donated some raffle prizes) and of course the Nazzaro Center!
The big raffle prizes were Staples gift cards purchased by NEAD so that students can get needed school supplies to help with their studies. NEAD supports the education of our young residents as we know how important a good education is in the battle against drug and alcohol abuse.
All of the children, their parents and our NEAD Board Members had a great time at a beautiful evening outside in our fantastic neighborhood.
