Neighborhood Throwback: 1974 North End Christmas Parade

The City of Boston Archives posted these seasonal throwback photos of the 1974 North End Christmas Parade, originally taken by one of Mayor White’s staff photographers. Robert “Ted” Tomasone was still organizing things back then and of course, Santa arrived by helicopter. See photos from this year’s 45th North End Christmas Parade.

  1. Nice photo. I am in awe of the people who work on the construction jobs that are all around us. Their work dangerous, gritty, noisy, and usually rough on the body. But like these guys, they are quick to offer a smile or tell you what they’re up to. Just another interesting aspect of the Boston community, in my mind.
