R.U.F.F. September Newsletter
September is upon us. We at RUFF hope all our furry friends and their owners enjoyed a wonderful summer. This is also a time of transition, new faces to the neighborhood, and sadly, some of you may have moved. If you see a new doggie face, please share the RUFF group information like our email (INFO@RUFFBoston.org), on Instagram (ruffnorthend), and Facebook (RUFF North End Dog Group). If your have left the North End or would no longer like to be on the mailing list please respond back and we will make the updates.
North End Dog Park Updates:
*Construction begins the 3rd week of September and the park will be closed for approximately 5 weeks.*
Next Park Phase: Construction. After years of hard work and waiting, our first of its kind, urban dog park is being constructed! Although the park will be closed for approximately 5 weeks to complete its transformation we know it will be worth the wait! We will keep the membership updated along the way with updates. During the closure please use the Richmond Street dog run for off-leash time. Any questions please reach out to RUFF.
Doggie Bags – Do you use doggie bags in the park? Do you love the dog park? RUFF maintains the park and dispensers. They are very expensive! While you are ordering on Amazon, help RUFF out by using our Amazon Smile when placing your order – every bit helps!
September 9th: Greenway Carnival of Dogs – sponsored by TD Bank! 10am-2pm. This annual event is held on the Greenway parcel in-between Hanover and Salem street. RUFF will have a booth along with LOTS of other great vendors. There will be group walks, kissing booth, demonstrations and lots of give-a-ways! This event is a BLAST. Come say hi and bring your dog for some FUN!
September 13th – Feedback in the Park 530pm (weather permitting) – RUFF’s board will be in the park to discuss the park closure and construction and answer any questions. Please swing by.
September 19th – 7pm – RUFF Meeting, Nazzaro Center – Planning for the opening of the park. Discussing outreach and volunteer opportunities. If you are looking for an organization to become more involved with please come by.
September 30th – 9:30am – Coffee in Richmond Street – With the big dog park under construction we hope to promote safe off leash dog play in the Richmond street dog run. Catch up with other dog owners and meet some new friends.
NEW RESIDENTS/PUPPIES – The fall brings an influx of new neighbors. Please connect with them about RUFF and encourage them to join our newsletter and come to events.
Dog Licenses – Is your dog officially licensed with the City of Boston? If not he/she needs to be. If you missed the registration at the Nazzaro last month you can easily register online here: https://www.boston.gov/departments/animal-care-and-control/how-license-your-dog – Please note: your dog MUST be licensed in order to use the Prince Street dog park and the Richmond street dog run. It is a law and looks out for the safety of all.
