At 318 feet (97 meters), the yacht Vava II made quite an impression when it arrived in Boston Harbor this weekend, shown above docked at Boston Yacht Haven. The boat was the largest British-built superyacht when launched in 2009, according to Wikipedia.
Vava II is estimated to cost $150 million and is owned by Swiss-Italian billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli and his wife, Kirsty. Bertarelli was CEO of Serono, a Swiss pharmaceutical company founded by his father and sold to Merck in 2007. He is currently owner of Kedge Capital Group and part of the sailing team Alinghi, which won the America’s cup twice. Kirsty Bertarellis is a former Ms. UK and pop singer.
