NEW Health CEO Honored by Massachusetts Community Health Center Officials

Members of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and other community health officials across the state gathered last night at Il Molo restaurant in the North End to honor NEW Health CEO, Jim Luisi. Luisi has been elected as the board chair of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC); he’s set to be inaugurated at a ceremony in San Diego in August.

Luisi joined the North End Health Center in 1974 and took over as CEO in 1988. He has served as a board member of both the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and the National Association of Community Health Centers. At the event last night, Massachusetts House Representative, Aaron Michlewitz, presented Luisi with an official citation from the House of Representatives. Following the presentation, Luisi thanked guests for attending and shared a few words.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be surrounded by so many good people, and I look forward to representing you all as the NACHC board chair. Though I am excited to take on this new national role, my home will always be in the North End.” Mr. Luisi also thanked Donato Frattaroli and Donato Frattaroli Jr., owners of Il Molo for hosting the event.

In his new role, Mr. Luisi will look after the healthcare of more than 25 million community health center patients nationwide. He will continue to perform his role as CEO at NEW Health in conjunction with the new national post.
