NEMPAC and City of Boston Bring Free Summer Concert Series to the Prado; Thursdays in July

The North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is thrilled to announce that their annual Summer Concert Series, in partnership with the City of Boston, will return to the Prado this summer to offer free outdoor concerts each Thursday in July. Main stage concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m., and each performance will be preceded by a special NEMPAC student feature at 5:30 p.m. A Kids Craft Table will be available on July 6th and July 13th, run by North End Against Drugs (NEAD).

“The Prado is our home for these local, intimate concerts featuring some of Boston’s finest musicians and talent. We’re fortunate to have the continued support of the City of Boston Mayor’s Office and Boston Parks and Recreation.” – Sherri Snow, NEMPAC Executive Director.

“Our plan is to highlight the beauty of the Prado by creating a “cafe” feel with small tables and scattered chairs, encouraging guests to mingle while they enjoy the many offerings from local businesses in the area.” – Mary Claire Cross, Administrative and Marketing Coordinator.

The Concert Series will kick off on July 6th with the North End favorite Scanzonati, featuring contemporary Italian jazz music. Community Night on July 13th will feature the Hilary Noble Jazz Duo 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. and the Dirty Water Brass Band from 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. The Series will close with REVMA (authentic Greek roots music) on July 20th and Caio Afiune (Brazilian Ensemble) on July 27th. All performances are free and open to the public.
