Boston Community Collaborative coordinated an amazing “Anthem Buddies” opportunity for 26 lucky kids ranging in age from 8-15 for the first game of the Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls playoff series. These kids got to stand on the court with the Celtics players during the singing of the National Anthem.
Several of the favorite things that these kids got to experience: Seeing the Garden from the perspective of the court; walking out onto the court from the tunnel is amazing. Being right next to Celtics during their warm ups, and noticing the size and athleticism of the players up close. While waiting in the tunnel prior to going on court, watching mascot Lucky practice fancy ball-spinning-atop-a-flag-pole-tricks, and watching acrobats and cheerleaders warm up, practice lifts and throws, and do all sorts of flips, handsprings, and amazing gymnastics. Running into Clarke Hazelwood at the Garden.
