Asperger’s Are Us Comedy Troupe at Improv Asylum on Sunday, April 23rd

Asperger’s Are Us will have a show on Sunday, April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Improv Asylum in Boston. Asperger’s Are Us is an autistic comedy troupe.

The four members; Michael Ingemi, Noah Britton, Jack Hanke, and Ethan Finlan, met at summer camp in 2010 and have been performing together ever since. Their custom-made “I DON’T WANT YOUR PITY” shirts highlight the fact that they would much rather the audience appreciates them as comedians than as people who have overcome adversity. With press in USA Today, NPR, The Boston Globe and TedX, Asperger’s Are Us hope to show everyone the positive aspects of Asperger’s Syndrome.

This will be among the troupe’s last local shows before it heads out to tour in Europe. The group has done shows in Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C., among other cities.

A documentary about the troupe premiered at SXSW this past March and has been acquired by Netflix, produced by Mark Duplass.

Tickets $20 and more information.
