Successful Food Drive by North End Girl Scout Brownie Troop

This year the North End Girl Scout Brownie Troop #72123 worked on a Project to Help Others by organizing a Food Drive.

Our Girls Scouts came up with the idea of a Food Drive on January 18th and in the consequent weeks they worked on a strategy and course of action. By February 15th they’d partnered with a number of locations including the Nazzaro Center, Fire Station, Eliot School, St. John School, and North End Public Library, to place fun-decorated empty boxes and signage to collect non-perishables. On March 1st we collected and sorted almost 100 cans of foods (soups, beans, corn, rice, tuna, etc.), about 40 boxes of pastas and cereals, and around 50 additional items (noodles, salad dressings, juices, chocolates, etc.)

On Saturday, March 25th, our troop successfully delivered 10 boxes of food to Pine St. Inn.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Mr. Jack Nolan, Pine Street Inn Food Distribution and Coordinator, who also provided a tour of the facilities to our troop.

We are so pleased to provide young girls with the chance to lead a great initiative and connect with the World in different levels.

We thank everybody who donated and participated in this initiative!
