Instacart expands high-tech grocery delivery, with hopes of helping grandma. Not yet in downtown Boston, this service utilizes smartphone-wielding grocery couriers to deliver groceries to customers in as little as an hour. The San Francisco-based company wants to help aging residents navigate the necessities of hometown living, continue reading at, The Boston Globe.

3. Today’s events on the agenda:

6:00pm NE Public Safety Meeting. Want to talk to the police? These meetings are open to the public and are attended by Boston Police Area A-1. [Nazzaro Center, 30 North Bennet Street].

7:00pm Community Meeting on Proposed Retail Development. The proposed development encompasses the current 53 Salem Street (four story residential/ retail) and 64-66 Cross Street.  The new owners, Charter Realty and Development, are proposing to replace the current building with a new one story structure, with a higher roofline than 64-66 Cross Street but without the residential units currently in 53 Salem Street.
