The Boulevard – Under Construction on Atlantic Avenue

Across from Rowes Wharf, construction on a new 12-story residential development, The Boulevard, continues with most of the demolition now completed. The building overlooking the Greenway is scheduled to open by the end of 2017 featuring 36 luxury residences starting at $1.5 million and up to $6.5 million. The main entrance will be at 110 Broad Street. “Smart technology” is being incorporated throughout including a computerized garage system that will allow residents to summon their car via a mobile phone code. Balconies and outdoor roof decks are also included in the design of many units.

Left standing, shown in these photos, is a skeleton exterior wall on one side with reinforcements that may be retained as part of the new building. The structure is part of a historic warehouse designed by architect Charles Bulfinch in 1805. The property lies within the Custom House National Historic District.

Shown below is the promotional video by the developer and real estate company.

  1. Matt- sad to see the Guts of the Bullfinch building torn down… At least the shell has to be preserved. It was the office of Hresko Associates , architectural firm, for over 30 years. My husband works for that firm. Bittersweet …. Ah, progress along the Greenway!!! Smothering open spaces!!!

    1. So sad. It was a wonderful building with flower boxes and The Littlest Bar underneath. While demo was going on, people would comment on how sad they were to see this precious building being torn down. Oh, but condos are so very essential … For the affluent!
