Coast Guard officers gave the group a look inside the Command Center where all of their security, search and rescue operations are managed. They received a briefing on the day to day operations at the base and were given a general idea of how many boats and what different kinds of boats travel through Boston harbor every day.  One topic covered was security for the large Sail Boston event taking place next Summer.

The day concluded the elected officials getting underway on the Harbor with Station Boston 45-foot response boat crew to observe the key recourses and critical infrastructures in and around Boston Harbor protected by Boston-based Coast Guard units.
